I seek the dark, deep blue of pristine and authentic military semi-auto pistols. Although my main focus is the M1911/M1911A1, I also collect military and prewar variations from among the Colt Model M, Browning High Power, Inglis High Power, and Colt Match Target Woodsman, as well as prewar commercial Colt Government Models, National Match pistols, and Super .38's. Half the joy is the hunt. A fraction is in tracing and tracking the his- tory while obsessing over the minute details that authenticate the variation. Last but not least is the joy derived from pride of ownership and showing off the pics! |
I'm always looking to acquire high quality, authentic examples. Like most collectors, I judge value based on CONDITION, ORIGINALITY, and RARITY. I will usually pay generously for something I really WANT (click here for wants list). |
