Colt 1911 Canadian Contract Government Model
sn 107xx 1914 Production

107xx was one of approx. 5,000 Government Models within the
C5400-C16599 range shipped to the Canadian government in 1914.
The C-broad arrow mark on receiver signified Canadian government
ownership. Later in its life likely after 1955, 107xx some-
how found its way to Britain where it acquired Birmingham Proof
House marks observed on the receiver, slide, and barrel.

Government Models of this era had a highly polished, smooth
reflective finish quite esthetically pleasing to the eye yet
technically challenging to photograph.
