1924 Production

Here is a 1924 Colt Transition Model M1911A1 showing the second type WTG cartouche with double circles. This change took place at approximately serial number 702000. (A 701998 Transition recently appeared on public auction with the double-circled WTG stamp.) The barrel is the post-1918 type with an interlaced HP on top of the chamber and a large non-serified K underneath ahead of the lugs. The large K may have been carried over from commercial practice, as a number of Government Models from 1922 to 1924 been observed with an identical K in the same location.
